WBA umpires - 2026 spring house season is ready to go!

Program Summary

The Wilmette Baseball Association provides an opportunity for boys and girls who are in 6th grade and above to be umpires in house league games. Assignments are based on age and experience.

WBA has a long-standing commitment to the youth umpiring program, and it has been a fun way for area boys and girls to get a little experience, spend some time with friends on the baseball field, and make some money at the same time!

Once umpires are registered and trained, they will be contacted on a weekly basis to schedule and receive umpiring assignments. Games run through May, and there is also a summer and fall season.

Umpire Payscale

Umpire pay is competitive and based on experience levels as follows:

First season 6th and 7th graders - $25/game (6th graders will only be assigned to Pinto games)
Any age umpires with one year of experience, or new 8th grade and up umpires - $30/game
8th grade and up with 2 years of experience - $45/game
8th grade and up with 3 years of experience - $50/game

Registration

Registration for the 2026 season is open.

We're going to do something a little different this year to try and streamline the process. Two steps.

Please fill out the following form if you'd like to umpire this year, regardless of whether you've umpired or not before. I'll need this information to set you as an active umpire and to set your pay rate.
Please also self-register using this link Officials Self-Registration. If you already have an account please log in and make sure all of the information is accurate and fill in any missing information. If you are new, you'll follow the instructions to create a new account. If you are asked for a Registration Code, it's 2025WBAumps

Training for the 2026 Season

All umpires will be required to attend at least one online training and all new umpires must attend an on-field training.

On-field trainings for new umpires:

Saturday March 14th 5-6 pm at Thornwood South
Saturday March 28th 8-9 am at Thornwood South

Online training (assignments, TeamSideline, etc)

Thursday April 2nd 8-9 pm
Monday April 6th 8-9 pm
