The Mustang House League is just for players in Grade 4. New teams are formed each year through a player evaluation and draft process. We try to keep team size between 12 and 13 to maximze playing time. Teams play approximately 16 games and there are also four in-season league sponsored clinics to supplement team practices. We have a post-season playoff that all teams make leading to a best of three World Series. World Series games are played at Roemer Park.
Managers (Head Coaches) for Mustang are selected from a pool of volunteers. In most years there are 30-40 Pinto Coaches moving to Mustang and room for only 11 or 12 Managers. Prior to the draft each Manager is allowed to pick one Coach. Of those two, only one can be the parent of a player that participated in the Summer Travel Program as a 9 yr old. The remainder of each team's Coaching Staff come from parents of the players drafted. Anyone interested in Managing must contact Al London or Mark Resnik at mustang@wilmettebaseball.org
As in past years, with sufficient interest, we expect to have three Travel Teams for summer play. Try-outs for these Travel Teams will be held Saturday April 30. Time and location to be announced later.

The WBA sponsors Pony teams in the The New Trier Pony Association which is comprised of the 7th and 8th grade players from the Evanston, Glenview, Glencoe, Wilmette and Kenilworth-Winnetka Baseball Associations. Each individual community organization places teams representing their association in the Blue (A) and Green (B) Division. Placement of players for each division are determined by an evaluation session and a subsequent draft by coaches for each Division. The Blue Division teams traditionally are filled with the stronger players from both 7th & 8th grade. The teams in the Green Division are filled with the balance of players from both 7th and 8th graders. Games will begin in mid-April. Teams will play 16 games with the regular season concluding in early June. Playoffs will follow during the next week followed by a championship game.
